Ok, so... I was making a DVD of some anime I downloaded and I thought, "Why not make a DVD of all the abridged series I like?"
I work as a videographer, so I do both video work and editing. I have a professional editing station with Avid software. My Avid DVD is pretty awesome and it can make some really nice DVDs.
So I was wondering if you all wanted a copy of the DVD I could make from the the series. I could make it with the Youtube videos, but it would work way better with the original files... or at least better quality than youtube.
I realize that You couldn't sell them at all, and most likely you wouldn't be able to do much more with them but watch them. But so what? It's a DVD of your work. It's neat all by itself.
So if you'd like to talk about that more, please e-mail. Oh, and in case you were wondering, no, I'm not selling anything. This would be completely free. Shipping and DVDs. I just felt like it would be a pretty cool thing to do for all the laughter all of you have given us.

The abridged thing is just something we do or watch for fun. If SMA or any of the abridgers were to be paid for their series, then it wouldn't be fun anymore. As HBI2K said years ago, work sucks and he does abridging for fun. If he were to be paid to do something that he likes doing, he's gonna hate it because it'll turn into a job. That same would go for everyone and a lot of people can just download from iTunes in the podcasts instead of DVDs.
Plus the whole copyright thing will be on not only your ass but on theirs as well.

youkuro did you even bother to read at all what terra said? She didn't say anything about paying them. She asked if they would like her to make a copy of their series on dvds' for free. Your post completely missed the entire point of what terra was talking about.

Doesn't really matter, anyway. Either they don't check the forum, or they don't want to do this. Either way, I have yet to get an e-mail, and I don't really want to bother them by sending them e-mails. It'd just seem like I'm a spammer... youkuro: I understand what you're saying, and yes, I agree. If I were paying them, it would be different. But I would be giving them the DVDs for their use. I know that neither I nor they could sell them even if I were to make them. I just might know copyright laws better than you. This is just a completely nonprofit way of saying thanks for the funny. No one would make any money off of this, least of all me since I'd be buying all the materials. And I never said that the fans would ever even be able to see it, let alone own one. Not unless one of them or I were to go to a convention and start handing out the DVDs for free. And now that I reread what I said, I understand where I went wrong. I said "you all" as if I were addressing the forum at large. I was not, only the creators of SMA. So if that is what you thought, you can ignore my previous words.

Hello SMA crew. I was wondering if you guys were going to Aniamazement next May, 2011 in NC? I would love it if you guys could do a Sailor Moon Abridged Panel. Also if you're interested i would also love it if you guys could do a Pokemon panel as well.
