Let's say all the old anime from our childhood is getting remastered the same way DBZ is being remastered in Japan. This of course includes "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon". Toei Animation gets the same VA's for it and redubbs all 200 episodes or a condensed series without the filler (Again like Dragonball Kai will be). IF it got picked up in America: 1) Which dubbing company picks it up? (4Kids, Nelvana, FUNimation, etc...) 2) How will they alter the dialoge and plot from the Japanese version? 3) Who would voice the main characters?

1) As FUNimation and 4kids are the only dubbers I am especially familiar with and 4kids should never be allowed near another anime ever again after what they did to One Piece, FUNimation. 2) Possible some cultural references, possibly the lesbian sailors, but considering the faithfulness of their recent dubs, I would say not a whole lot. 3)Don't Know.

Only Funimation and 4kids? Where have you been the last 7 years? Geneon said they would be interested in redubbing the series if the shit with Naoko Takeuchi and Toei animation (The whole licensing thing thats been going on for years now) ever got settled. But then Geneon went out of business.

That's probably one of the biggest "What ifs" in the anime world. To sort of answer your questions.
1) Probably Funimation, they've salvaged most of Geneon's properties, and I believe Sailor Moon was one they picked up after untangling the licensing mess with Toei.
2.) Funi tries to stay as faithful to the Japanese script as possible. There would be several edits to be made if they broadcast it on TV, but on DVD it would be uncut with all the music and Sound effects intact
3.) That's a hard one, Since we have so many studios out there in places like NYC, Carolina, Texas, California, and Vancouver, selecting one would be hard. the good thing is we have a lot of actors to choose from. My Mock cast would be this
Usagi/Sailor Moon: Tracy Moore (Hey she wasn't bad until Terri Hawkes replaced her) Ami/ Sailor Mercury: Catlin Glass Rei/Sailor Mars: Kari Wahlgren Makoto/Sailor Jupiter:Coleen Clinkenbeard Mina/Sailor V/Sailor Venus: Monica Rial ChibiUSA/Sailor Chibi-moon: Either Hillary Haag or Carrie Savage Luna: Saffron Henderson Artemis: Michael McConnohie Mamoru/ Tuxedo Mask: Mike Sinterniklass Queen Beryl: Patricia Drake Jadite: Chris Bevins Nephrite: Steve Blum Kunzite: Crispin Freeman Zoicite: Maddie Blaustien....oh yeah, she's dead...uh....Johnny Young-Bosch (Sorry Mr. Bosch, no Main character for you!)
Of course we have to fit Dan Green in there somewhere...

There was a Panel at one of the Conventions, I forgot which one, That Had ADV Say that they would be re-doing the dubs and also get the 5th season and Live action if America can get the license back for Sailor moon.

1) I would choose FUNimation just because they are better. 2) Burn the sailor says tapes and get rid of the cheeesey 90s language. Stop using such simple English as well, also make the emotional scenes more like when tuxedo mask dies or when sailor mercury and sailor Uranus get attacked at the end of season 3. 3) I have no stepngnprefrencw just as long as their voice is not anoting like the new ash in pokemon or may or theorher new contest person.

1.) I'd choose FUNimation 2.) I think they'd try their best to try 3.) I'd agree with nantendowii's cast list except for Zoicite. I think Greg Ayres would fit as Zoicite

1) Funimation.
2) From what I hear they keep everything as close as the original Japanese.
3) Don't know but I would prefer a new fresh cast that are as close as their Japanese counterpart...which is hard but as close as they can.
P.S. Nelvana and 4Kids should NEVER EVER GET THEIR HANDS ON SAILOR MOON! Don't get me started with 4Kids but Nelvana really butchered Cardcaptor Sakura for the English Dub.

This would be awesome. I'm a bit out of the loop - what is the problem with America not having the license exactly?

IIRC TOEI just revoked the license for Sailor Moon outside of Japan. But apparently some other countries are already relicensing Sailor Moon
