There's a vast world of anime out there, and with so many titles out there, it's easy for some to get overlooked/lost in the shuffle/forgotten etc.
So I am here to ask: What're some of your favorite anime that deserves more attention in the fandom?

I wouldn't call Planetes my favorite, but it is pretty good, and offhand I don't think it's that popular.

What about Bitter Virgin? From what I've heard, the main girl has a hatred for men, due to what had happened to her in her life so far...

I've been Reading this one Manga called "Reiko the Zombie Shop" and frankly, this has to be one of the sickest most twisted Manga I've read. And you know what? I love it! It's funny, it's scary, it's Ultra-violent, and it has people being raised from the dead with the power of SATAN! What more could you ask for?! More Cowbell?

Question, Anime and Manga or just anime?
Hmmm...for Anime, if you want happy magical girl stuff (though directed by the same person who directed Dragon Ball Z and Air Gear) check out Futari Wa Pretty Cure and its second season, Futari Wa Pretty Cure Max Heart. It's really super good though cheesy, of course.
Another pretty good anime is Phantom Memory Kurau and Carried by the Wind: Tsukikage Ran (this one only has like 13 episodes).
I think people already know of Eureka Seven.
For Manga...
Fairy Tale is super good and very long plus continuing.
FLCL is just freakin' crazy.
And there is actually a Legend of Zelda Manga. I think it's contemporary from LoZ OoT though, not anything earlier.

Rozen Maiden, without a doubt. I want to see this show really badly...the other forum talks about how great it is. Of course, they were also pretty hung up on the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and that show sucked outright. I still say Kino's Journey and Haibane Renmei need more love...that, or more attention. Watching Haibane Renmei would put me in context to you all anyways...

hmm anime that need some love well i know a few Noir-the action aint half bad nor the story in my opinion Gunslinger girl-the anime its pretty good for 13 episodes (first season) i havent seen the second season but i heard its good as well The daughter of 20 faces-Yeah this series i loved it and saw it by chance its pretty good and has some twists nearing the end worth sticking out to see. Tokko-i just started watching it..But the BLOOD who dont love that?
Now on the manga side i have a few aas well Kaze hikaru-the story of the shinsengumi from a diferent view Innocent W- only 3 volumes long but has some of the most gruesome forms of magic i seen Night mare inspector- starts off a bit boring but once you see the nightmares how they affect the ppl its worth reading

reapersakura, I really enjoyed Gunslinger Girl, enough that I purchased it, but I feel that the ending is extremely rushed. They set up the series so nicely and then end it quickly in two episodes (and those episodes don't make a whole lot of sense).

Melancholy... is pretty good.
But I agree with Rozen Maiden getting more love. Sure, it is one of the things that have caused the 'desu disease', but it's still good!
I want Season 3, damnit! (OVA doesn't count).
