I want to make an Abridge series too.  You could say I've been inspired.... But there seems to be no more anime left to Abridge, sooooo I am kind of stuck.... |

Uh...well, the only thing that comes to mind is Powerpuff Girls Z. Apparently Japan made their own version, 'cuz they were jealous. It's pretty kiddish since there's no sad endings or whatnot. That's the only thing that's come to my head atm.

How about Speed Racer. Has that been abridged yet?
I know this isn't an anime and I've said it before, but the old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon. If I had talent I would definitely do this.

It might even make more sense to do an abridged version of Robotech than Macross itself, since there are opportunities for making fun of the Macekre of the animes of which Robotech was composed. (Think of the jabs that SMA pokes at the English dub of Sailor Moon.) |

Well, I could ask Megami if she'd be interested in doing an Abridged version of Final Approach which we've both been working on for a year. Though given the fact it's only 13 15min episodes, it would be short.

Many tried and either failed, still organizing, or quit abridging Pokemon, Cardcaptor Sakura, and One Piece
But the only thing to have a good abridged like is a good team of funny jokes, good voices for each character, a good-quality microphone, the occasional references and fourth-wall breaking, and a master editor. The editing software doesn't have to be professional (Adobe CS 3 or CS4) to make a good abridged series. Some great parody series made it big by using programs as simple as Windows Movie Maker and Audacity.
*Edit: MagicalFlute is now the official abridger of Cardcaptor Sakura.

Abridging One Piece is pretty hard.
Sure, you could make fun of 4Kids dub, but that gets old easy. About 20% of SMA's best jokes poke fun at the DiC dub, the rest are random hilarity.
Besides, it's hard to make a comedy out of a series that has fantastic comedy already (despite being a very good and serious series).
